Chris Zimmerman

Chris Zimmerman is Senior Vice President and General Counsel. He was appointed General Counsel in 2019 after  serving National Life Group as assistant general counsel and senior counsel. He has overall responsibility for the Law Department and for the company’s compliance organization.

Before joining National Life in 2013, Zimmerman was counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in Boston, a leading international law firm where he was a member of the Litigation Department, Investigations and Criminal Litigation and Business Trial Practice Groups. Prior to that he was a clerk for The Hon. George Z. Singal, United States District Court Judge, District of Maine.

Zimmerman is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University Law Center. He is a voting member of the American Council of Life Insurers Litigation Task Force, as well as other industry groups.
