National Life Group employees volunteer to pack food at Vermont Foodbank

Montpelier, VT (January 30, 2020) - National Life Group employees donated a record $286,519 to nonprofits of their choice through the company’s Share the Good campaign. The National Life Group Foundation then matched those donations, for a total of $573,438.

“Our Share the Good campaign is a great way for our teammates to give back to the causes they care about,” said Mehran Assadi, Chairman, CEO and President of National Life. “We’re proud we can match the good they do to help those who need it.”

Employees are encouraged to donate to up to four nonprofits through the campaign. The company’s Foundation then matches up to $2,000 of their donations. The nonprofits that received the most in donations were:

  • Vermont Foodbank: $21,484
  • Central Vermont Human Society: $12,020
  • St. Jude's Research Hospital: $7,650

In addition to the Share the Good campaign, employees are also encouraged to use 40 hours of paid volunteer time annually to support their communities. In 2019, employees donated a total of more than 7,400 hours of their labor to nonprofits.
